Ron Eyester, aka @TheAngryChef, has a long and unabashed love affair with jam band music. It’s safe to say that Jerry Garcia, the Grateful Dead’s posthumous leader, is the siren of Eyester’s eye. Perhaps it has something to do with Garcia’s own fondness for cooking. To celebrate, Eyester mixes his love of music and his passion for extended guitar riffs with his yearly Jerry Garcia Dinner at his Virginia-Highland restaurant Rosebud.
This event has become so popular that Eyester expanded the gig from a two-night showing to a week long festival. Incorporated into the celebration is lots of live music at Rosebud’s sister restaurant The Family Dog, and a special dinner.
While the whole thing runs August 1st to the 7th, the week will conclude with Lewis Newmark’s 4th Annual Jerry Day at The Family Dog from 1 – 10 p.m. the dinner itself takes place on Wednesday August 3rd. Here are the details!
