Don’t let the name full you, Black Tie Barbecue is more than just a barbecue catering service. In fact, they are more than just a full-service caterer. Since their inception, the quadrapedal team has served up a full array of grub. However, the business has grown beyond that of a traditional caterer and into a full fledged food producing operation.
Started by Spencer Humphrey, Neil Rollins, and their wives Allison and LaToyin (respectively), you will often find Black Tie BBQ at local Atlanta food festivals in addition to private events. They’ve also been known to host an underground supper club from time to time.
If you haven’t deduced from the above pictures, the team has moved out of their “backyard” and into a brick and mortar location in Cabbagetown. Located at 486 Decatur St in the old Lenny’s Bar location, they have carved out a nice little space all to themselves. Most importantly for you, they are offering a Friday lunch service. Though I assure you, they offer a variety of food if they cater your event, the lunch menu does fall in line with their moniker. Every Friday from 11:30am to 3pm, the gang serves up four types of barbecue and four sides for your mixing and matching pleasure. Thankfully, they do offer a selection of beverages, as you will most certainly need something to wash your food down.
I have yet to sample one of their Friday lunches; however, I’ve had several of their festival offerings and all of their dishes did this Foodie Buddha good. Not much else to say, but I strongly suggest you check ‘em out and see for yourself. The picture that follows was stolen off their website … did I mention today is Friday???
