Slashfood is the home to techfoodies. I myself read it every day (and usually with great attention to detail). Recently, they asked their readers to name the best sandwich in America. Well, so long as you made a shout out in the comments, your place got added. I’ve actually been to five of these spots and sorry folk… I love ya’ll but this list is a joke. I got no farther than #2 on the list before I had to try hard to hold back the tears. Pat’s blows and is nothing more than a tourist trap (Let the tomato tossing begin…I’m ready!).
Zingerman’s Delicatessen in Ann Arbor got some love, TRUE DAT!!! While their BLT on rye is damn good – there are a number of things I’d grab first. It’s one of the best shops in the states and they have a kick ass mail order catalog. I easily ate there 2x a week my junior and senior years at UofM.
Locally, someone gave props to the Watershed. Unfortunately for me, I always eat there on Tuesdays and always get the fried chicken (MUST WATCH). Maybe I’ll make a trip out there to try the garlic and thyme roasted pork sandwich now that I’m in the throws of the Atlanta Sub & Sandwich Tour.
