Atlanta Loses A Foodie
Dan Loker, who went by the online handle of KoPP, has passed on. The announcement was made early this morning by Mike Stock, who runs the 285 Foodies forum. Though I never met him myself, KoPP was a prolific participant on the site and known to many of folks around these parts.
Watershed Opening In Buckhead
Back in early August, Tomorrow’s News Today reported that famed Decatur restaurant Watershed was on its way to the South Buckhead neighborhood of Brookwood Hills. Back to the Start
Back to the Start hit the internet yesterday and got passed around quickly. It is a stop-motion film that talks about sustainability and farming. I’ve visited a number of them and little excites me as much as a walk through an instantaneous culture shock. Supermercado Chicago, known to us gringos as Chicago Supermarket, is one such window into Mexican culture and …

The Porch at Collier [Openings]
Just a quick little “coming soon” post. The Porch at Collier is a new restaurant set to open at 1201 Collier Rd. The free standing building was last home to Hong Li and sits near a Figo outpost on the borders of Cross Creek and Underwood Hills. Originally slated to open in August, the date …
Bacon Pancakes [Recipes]
I hate bacon. I don’t really mean bacon itself, rather … I hate what has become of bacon. It’s everywhere and it’s Benton’s fault! Still, when I found this recipe for bacon strip pancakes, I knew I had to make them! So while y’all are reading this, I’ll be making this! To be honest, had …
